Product Update (4-16-2007)
When you copy from the Gallery, most of the applications do not include sample data. On the Collections that have linked fields, you will see the link widget, but you will not be able to set a value until you have added records to the linked collection.
For example, in the Basic Project Manager application, add some records to the Resources Collection and then the linked fields that allow you to assign resources to tasks and projects will display the resources you have added.
I did discover an issue with the Basic Project Manager gallery application that is preventing the "Create Task" Action from the Projects Collection to assign the task to the selected project. I will fix this right away. For now, if you follow the instructions in tutorial #2, the resulting action will work.
Sorry for the inconvenience and thanks for the post.
I entered a few records in Tasks, Resources, Projects.
I can set a link Assigned to in Task collection.
But I cannot change the value after entering.
I see only one value I have entered the first time but not a list of values.
But Link to Project is not set. And the same list of tasks are entered to any Resource item.
It's fine that in Project collection the link with resources is operating OK. I see a list and I can change the value in Edit mode.
But in other collections links are opertaing in wrong way or NOT operating at all.
I have tried once more to install links. When I click SAVE I see that link is installed. But after I click EXIT I see Link is not set.
I have checked all collections - Task, Resources and Projects.
Maybe I do something in a wrong way.
During the last 4 years I have been developing and enhancing Personal Knowledge Manager using DB Access.
Now I would be very glad to transform it to Web-based application. But I need to link three as minimum collections (files).
I hope that all errors will be repaired.
Best regards,
Zigmas
I carefully checked LINKS in TASKS collection.
1. Link Assigned to - I cannot change the first value I have entered for the first task.
2. Link Project - I must enter right Project name, then click ENTER and when I see the second time the Project title in the string below I must move mouse on the Project title and click ENTER.
If I enter a wrong Project name then I cannot enter it.
But I do not see a list of values both in the link Assigned to and the Link Project.
In Project collection Links are operating OK.
But for any Project I see a full list of ALL tasks. That is wrong.
If I see at collection Tasks I see that different tasks are related to different project .
I hope that my comments will enable you to check this application and repair it as part of application is operating in normal mode.
best wishes

I have succeeded to create a new application from scratch.
I have created application with three collections and links.
All is working fine.
Now I shall try too prepare my proposals how to enhance your system.
I shall develop a simple ontology system that I plan to use to save and use different queries in the Web.
Therefore you can fix the Basic Project Manager when you will have a free time.
best wishes

I have tried to see at link "new UI here" - see at third string of the SNIPPET
SNIPPET
User Interface and Usability:
* Launched a brand new user interface (See Guide)
Reference the guide for the new UI here.
* Added ability to retain context when switching between author and user modes
The link does not operate.

Very nice feature of Coghead. You should add to list of features:
I've developed a simple personal knowledge system for entering and saving information in different languages.
I've tested copy-paste snippets in four languages:
- Lithuanian,
- Polish,
- Russian and
- English.
I can see right all characters that differ from Latin.
Typically in other applications there is a problem when I enter text in different languages.
I recommend to try enter and other languages.
Best wishes to Coghead tema
