Paul Salazar Appointed VP of Customer and Community Development
Veteran of Open Source Marketing to Expand Growing Community of Coghead Developers
REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – Oct. 16, 2007 – Coghead today announced the appointment of Paul Salazar as vice president of customer and community development. Bringing 20 years of experience in marketing, sales, and engineering, Salazar will manage the growth and development of Coghead’s developer and user communities. Currently, more than 25,000 do-it-yourselfers have signed up to use Coghead’s web-based application development service to create their own business applications.
Prior to joining Coghead, Salazar served as senior director of corporate marketing at SpikeSource, where he managed marketing communications, lead generation, and PR for the open source solutions provider. Prior to SpikeSource, Salazar was director of global marketing programs for open source software leader Red Hat where his responsibilities included channel, OEM, and services marketing, and an appointment as EMEA marketing director. Before Red Hat, Salazar held positions at Cygnus Solutions, a pioneer in open source software tools, ITT Cannon, and Ampex Corporation.
In addition to corporate management, Salazar has taught marketing and strategy courses at Stanford University and Menlo College. Salazar holds a bachelor of science degree and a master of science degree in electrical engineering and an MBA from Stanford University.
